::UPDATE:: Alpha Protocol: Un-Confirmed Full Frontal Nudity

Most gamers remember how everyone went nuts about Mass Effect having a sex scene between a blue female alien and the main character. Well now it looks like Obsidian is looking to include full frontal nudity in Alpha Protocol as well.

“No, it’s tasteful,” Davis said when asked whether the game’s sex scenes contain full-frontal nudity.

“We do some things with our cinematics, too. It isn’t just like a hand up on a thing! We cut around it a little bit. It’s an American game! What can I say? There are limits to what we can do there. I’ve seen a few of the cinematics for those and it ends up being satisfying without being… you know… over… you know?”

It’s good to hear that the nuditiy will be tasteful, but to be honest I wouldn’t care if it was gratuitous either. What is the big deal of having nudity in a video game that is clearly labeled mature? More importantly is the fact that the different sexual relationships you have will help shape the game, this actually helps make the sexual romps part of the game.

“No, no, no! No God of War sex scenes! We don’t have that.”

Players in Alpha Protocol will be able to have a number of romances with key NPCs, including female soldier Sie and handler Mina, which will impact the game’s various endings.

It is a bit of a shame to hear that no one is embracing the sexual mini-game like God of War did, but I wonder if you bang everyone in the game if you die at the end of an STD?

::UPDATE:: We recently got a message from Matthew Rorie, Marketing/PR Producer for Obsidian Entertainment that said:
“There is no full-frontal nudity in Alpha Protocol. There is sex, but, as Nathan himself said, there are limits to what we can show in a game.” ::UPDATE::

The title of this article is very misleading. How does this confirm full frontal nudity? This appears to just take a direct quote out of context…

“No, it’s tasteful,” Davis said when asked whether the game’s sex scenes contain full-frontal nudity.

As in, “No, there is no full frontal nudity in our game. We have, however, decided to carry out any adult themes tastefully.”

  2. Al Zamora says:

There will be nudity, it will be very hard to show a sex scene with nothing showing. If they do that then there would be no point in even adding it in.

  3. Takeru Yamamoto says:

Uh… he still didn’t directly confirm whether it was FULL FRONTAL nudity. But he did confirm there was a sex scene.

And if there wasn’t a point, then why did God of War and Mass Effect and Dragon Age and Witcher do it? They all have sex scenes without showing full frontal nudity.

  4. Al Zamora says:

Mass Effect and GoW both had boobs in it, GTA IV had male genitalia. There was no point in the scenes other than getting publicity, none of those scenes added to the gameplay or theme, this at least sound slike it will change your ending.

“No, it’s tasteful,” Davis said when asked whether the game’s sex scenes contain full-frontal nudity.”

This quote is saying he was asked if there would be full-frontal nudity. “asked whether the game’s sex scenes contain full-frontal nudity.”

He replies to that question by saying “No”

  6. Hey guys,

This is Matthew Rorie, Marketing/PR Producer for Obsidian Entertainment. There is no full-frontal nudity in Alpha Protocol. There is sex, but, as Nathan himself said, there are limits to what we can show in a game.

  7. If possible, it would be nice to have this article edited to update what I’m saying here. If you have any questions, feel free to email me.
