Crackdown 2 Hits July 6

Crackdown was an amazing game. It did have a pretty lame ending, but it did what it set out to do: keep us entertained as we powered up our orb-absorbing juiced up crime-fighting combatant to an unstoppable villain field goal-kicking superhero. Ah, the good ol’ days…

A couple of years later, with an obvious sequel announced, Microsoft has finally shed some light on the release date for our return to the skyscraper-filled megalopolis that is Pacific City. Crackdown 2 will launch in North American on July 6, with a release of July 8 for Asia, Australia and New Zealand, and a  European release date of July 9. I’ve been waiting a long time to get back into abusing baddies in the most inhumane ways possible.

The producer of Crackdown, James Cope, has said that a demo will be appearing before the initial release day of the game, which will allow for a bit of warming up before July 6. Bet your sweet asses that we will have a written preview before the game’s release just to fill you in on some stuff and probably intentionally spoil tons of goodies. Okay, we probably won’t spoil anything – we’re not really douchebags to that extent.
