Despite dropping tickets for this year's Pokemon GO Fest to $5, Niantic knows a lot of players will spend the difference elsewhere.

Especially considering Day Two of the event is putting every single Legendary already in the game back into Five-Star Raid Battles.

Two of those Pokemon that are coming back to Raids are the Eon Duo, Latios and Latias.

It's been a few months since their last appearance, so are Latios and Latias good Pokemon that are worth your hard-earned raid passes? Here's your answer.

Can Latios and Latias Be Shiny During GO Fest?

They can!

Both Latios and Latias' Shiny Forms were made available in early 2019, with the former arriving in April and the latter in February.

The duo, unlike many other Legendary Pokemon, are significantly different when in their Shiny Forms. They trade their trademark red and blue colours for a turquoisey-green colour and a vivid yellow.

Unlike the majority of Shiny Pokemon, Latios and Latias' Legendary status means that they'll benefit from better Shiny odds. They'll be encountered at roughly 1 in 20, rather than the usual 1 in 500 players have become accustomed to.

Is Latios Good in Pokemon GO? Best Moveset Explained

Like many Legendary Pokemon, Latios doesn't really find its footing until the Master League.

PVPoke ranks it as the 254th best Pokemon in the Great League and the 218th best in the Ultra League, however, in the Master League, it comes in at 45th place, ranking better than Rayquaza.

It picks up some massive wins against the likes of Giratina, Mewtwo, Dragonite, Garchomp and Groudon to name but a few in the league. Just be prepared to level it up with plenty of XL Candies.

The moveset you're going to want to use is as follows:

  • Fast Move - Dragon Breath
  • Charge Move - Dragon Claw
  • Charge Move - Psychic

Is Latias Good in Pokemon GO? Best Moveset Explained

Latias is ultimately inferior to Latios in every division, so if you're going to raid either, it's definitely worth going for the latter.

It ranks at 372nd in the Great League, 305th in the Ultra League and a division-best 110th in the Master League.

It does still beat the likes of Mewtwo, Kyogre and Ho-Oh, but tastes defeat from more of the League's other key players.

If for some reason you do decide to use Latias, your best moveset is:

  • Fast Move - Dragon Breath
  • Charge Move - Outrage
  • Charge Move - Psychic
