StarCraft II My Long Lost Love

You know you are addicted to a game when you start viewing replays… in your sleep. I found myself literally dreaming about Starcraft II last night. I could see myself building probes and working out strategies and then realized that I was in fact asleep. I woke up laughing to myself and thinking ‘wow’. This had not happened to me for a while, I was having video game pr0n dreams.

Mafia II Review

Mafia II gives you the opportunity to relive 1943 to 1957 in American history where cops and robbers each had a grand role. You play Vito Scaletta an up-and-coming wise-guy wanna-be with the usual appetites for money, cars, women and power. Does Mafia II provide you the experience of a Don or do you come up short and get whacked? Read on and find out.

The game embarks with Vito coming back from World War II and meeting up with his old buddy Joe Barbaro who is a clear Joe Pesci look alike. Vito gets discharged from the military thanks to Joe and his shady connections and from there on out it is time to start the shenanigans. Vito quickly learns of a debt his family owes and embarks on a quest to get them out of trouble with Joe.

Green Day: Rock Band Review

It seems like there is no stop to the inertia that Rock Band has created and they are not afraid to go in different and very specific directions to push units. The most recent entry into the franchise is Green Day: Rock Band, which is exactly what it advertises to be, a Rock Band game with a Green Day skin and feel. Does it deliver hard punk rock action or fizzle out? Well, this really depends on how much you like Green Day. Seriously.

This version of Rock Band will quickly be compared to Beatles Rock Band and really that will be its downfall. What I mean by that is that Beatles Rock Band served as a more iconic view into a generational, influential band, while I don’t think the same can be said for the Green Day version. The simplest way to sum up Green Day: Rock Band is to take Rock Band 2, remove the ability to create your own avatar, insert Green Day characters and songs, and viola.

Iron Man 2 Review

Iron Man 2 was a blockbuster film but will the game be the same? Well first off let me tell you that the game actually isn’t a bad rehash of the film this time instead stands alone. Surprising huh? Does this mean it will sit in a league with Batman Arkham Asylum or will it go sit next to its older brother Iron Man 1 and wonder where it all went wrong?

Jimmy Fallon Plays Need for Speed Tonight

Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit was announced last week during the EA press conference at E3 and it took no time flat for it to hit major TV. Looks like Jimmy Fallon will be firing up some Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit on his Late Night show and trying his hand at some cops-versus-racers. So stay tuned to NBC tonight at 12:30 am local time to see how things turn out and who ends up winning or losing.

E3 2010: Rumor: Dead Space 2 PS3 Timed Exclusive

After doing some serious thinking and sitting through the EA press conference today, the DualShockers team may have stumbled upon something in regards to Dead Space 2, it may be a announced tomorrow as a PS3 timed exclsuive. You may ask how we came up with this idea so here goes the logic train, hop aboard and take a ride.

Video Games: A Paradigm Shift

Paradigm shifts occur all the time (not only in Final Fantasy XIII), just like the shift in technology to cellular phones and computers. Video games are no different. Let’s take a trip thru time and space to discuss some shifts that have occurred in our industry, shall we?

When would you have thought that video games would mature and erupt into a main stream medium where now consumers expect certain things that never would have been considered back in the day. Take basic graphics into consideration alone. Who would have thought we would have graphical comparisons between consoles and discussions on screen tear and environmental destruction ? I can still recall playing Contra and marveling at the graphics of the aliens in the game. Even Mario only had a mustache so you could tell he had a face! Now we need 1080p and 60 FPS because anything else would be uncivilized.

Thank You Mailman – E3 Badges Arrive

For those of you that are locked away with no access to any type of media outlet, E3 2010 is quickly approaching. What is E3 2010? Boy you don’t get out much do you! E3 is just the Super Bowl of Video Games and yesterday the mailman dropped off his greatest gift ever, my E3 Media Badge. This entitles me one trip to Los Angeles and many many hours of gaming exclusives. Good news for everyone who keeps up with DualShockers there are three of us going this year Jon, Joel and myself so expect a ton of coverage and as much behinds the scenes stuff as they will allow us to film for you.

Lego Harry Potter Year Four Vignette

I am a big fan of the ever humorous Lego style games like Lego Indiana Jones, Star Wars and Batman. Now everyone is strapping in for Lego Harry Potter so here is a Year Four Vignette to give you a flavor of what is in store for you. Lego Batman has been the high point of these series but Harry Potter looks pretty good and could give it a run for its money. What do you think? UFC Undisputed 2010 GSP Trailer

OK it is almost time for UFC Undisputed 2010 to makes its way into your living room and what better way than to have the Canadian poster child for this sport do his own trailer. Watch as GSP (George St. Pierre) talks about what it means to be in the UFC and train in his own trailer.
