Audio Intelligence Tech Demonstrated for Wii Light Saber Battles

When it comes to what makes a game great, many people agree that an intense soundtrack has a lot to do with it. One thing that we all have become accustomed to as gamers is ambient music. This is essentially music that changes on the fly based on the action that is taking place in the game you are playing. Soundtrack interactivity is exactly what Psai, a new ambient sound engine for the Nintendo Wii, is all about. In the following video you will see a light saber battle taking place. Though there is no game-play being shown here the game is not what is being showcased, but rather the sound and music. The way the music keeps up with the pace of the light saber battle is precisely what gamers want when they think of ambient music. As the battle gets more intense, more drums are slammed, more chords creep in, and in this demo you’ll see that if done well ambient sound can produce some amazing results.

New Two Worlds II Videos Are a Good Laugh

Ages ago the tale of the evil side-kick Sordahon began, but it continues when he is looking for a job after the conclusion to Two Worlds. SouthPeak shows the world once again that they are not stiffs and know how to have a good time with some fun and games. In the following videos Two Worlds II (developed by Reality Pump) makes fun of its predecssor a little and Sordahon looks for a new job outside of the gaming industry. It’s nice to see a game campaign that doesn’t take itself too seriously, and yet still manages to suck you in to the world surrounding it with humor. Have a good laugh at these videos after the break.

DualShockers StarCraft II: Collectors Edition Unboxing Video Is Sexy!

StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty releases tomorrow, for those of you who have been napping under a cozy rock. With the release, a hefty and bulky Collector’s Edition will be hitting store shelves which will come with a bunch of nifty goodies for you StarCraft fans to salivate over. You guys already know that we’re a bunch of cool mofos here at DualShockers so, with that said, we’ve decided to provide you guys with an unboxing video which shows off the amazing novelties that Blizzard has blessed fans with. With my birthday being on Wednesday the 28th, I will admit that it is, by far, one of the best gifts I’ve received as of yet, unless someone decides to surprise me with an Aston Martin or a year’s supply of Chef Boyardee (best Italian food ever!).

After the jump, you’ll bear witness to one of the most anticipated games in this industry receiving its well deserved flaunts. With the game, we have a couple of “Guest Passes” which we will probably give away to those of you who haven’t gotten a taste of the beta. We haven’t determined how we’re going to distribute them yet, but I’m pretty sure it’s going to be along the lines of a contest here in the comments section. So, if you’re not going to be able to purchase the game tomorrow, then here’s your chance to receive a couple days of playtime. Check out the video after the jump, and we hope that you enjoy it!

HipHopGamerShow 7/25/10 Talks God of War, PS Move Sports Champions, Drake Going Platinum, and More

This week’s HipHopGamerShow is a must-see (as usual) and covers topics like Sony’s upcoming Games + Movies on one Blu-ray bundle program, hip-hop artist Drake going platinum, the accuracy of PS Move Sports Champions and much more. It’s Sunday, you’ve got nothing else to do (as HHG’s saying goes), and you really need to see this show. HHG goes in depth on some of the God of War greatness that can be expected in the future in addition to a multitude of topics and will not leave you disappointed. The world champion game journalist even breaks down the differences between Bulletstorm’s PC and console editions (which seem to be slim to none) and of course will have some special surprises for us in this week’s show so check it out.

An Avalanche of Kingdoms of Amalur Media

Electronic Arts announced their new RPG Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning the other day, but we hardly got any media for it. Today we get a smattering of screens and artwork and a quick video trailer. While there is a lot of time between now and when this game is supposed to be released in late 2011, the game looks pretty good. I’m excited to see it develop, especially with the talent that is on board. Hit the jump for the down and dirty video and screens.

New Neptune Trailer Shows Off Transformations

If you thought Transformers: War for Cybertron was the only place you could get transformers, you are absolutely…wrong. Enter Super Dimensional Game Neptune, in which cute girls personify game consoles. These girls then transform into goddesses and much badassery commences. Check out the latest trailer from Compile Heart after the break, which shows off this trippy process.

What is kind of cool is that, as the video shows, you have different parts of the body that you can equip with different accessories, or processors. This determines both the final aesthetic look of the goddess and also their abilities in battle.

The 16-bit sprites you see throughout the video are actually summons, and are based off Gust, Compile Heart, Nippon Ichi and Sega characters throughout the years. You will also supposedly be able to pull in your own pictures and use them as summons throughout the game, as well, which adds yet another swanky customization aspect to the game.

Super Dimensional Game Neptune releases in Japan next month and I’m hoping and praying either Sega or NIS America will bring this game stateside.

Marvel Vs Capcom 3 Comic-Con Game-Play Trailers Released in HD

Rabid enthusiasts of the recently unveiled Marvel Vs Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds have been thrown another bone to drool over. A new game play video and trailer have surfaced for the game, taken from Comic-Con 2010. Better yet, these new videos are presented in mouth watering HD, where available. One of the trailers reveals four new characters that will appear in the game. These include 2 returning characters and 2 characters new to the series. Doctor Doom was and still is a very popular, if poorly balanced character in MVC2. Chun-Li of the Street Fighter series makes her triumphant return in her fully figured glory.  Newcomer Super Skrull is a little known character from the Fantastic Four comic book series and is shown beating Chun-Li into a pulp in the new game play trailer. The second new character is Trish from the Devil May Cry media series. Fans of the games will recognize her immediately, although we will see only a short glimpse of her combat at this time. If you’re anything like me, these tidbits of HD goodness will escalate your anticipation of this new fighter to unheard of levels. Capcom seems to be keeping our appetite whet until the game drops in spring of next year.

Alice Teaser Trailer Shows Dark Theme of Madness in HD

Remember Alice in Wonderland? Of course you do, but you don’t remember this Alice because the madness is returning to a very dark themed title headed for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 and you might just loose some teeth trying to bite on this apple. If there’s one thing you can count on from the following trailer it’s a little peak into a largely demented Alice and she wants to play with you, check it out in HD after the break.

PC MMO TERA Arrives in Europe w/ Game-Play, Trailer, + Screens

TERA is an MMO title featuring real-time battles and what some are calling “next-gen” 3D graphics. The game has recently began making its way over to Europe from Japan where it was released in February 2010 and will have gamers cheesing over the non-targeting game-play system that should be a breath of fresh air from most MMO battle systems. After a 3 year, $24 million development process and various closed betas including massive amounts of players, this game is surely tried and tested among a core audience by En Masse Entertainment for developers Bluehole Studio and soon will land in the European market as well on the expected release date of March 31st, 2011.

Soon, the wait is over for this MMO-RPG from across the sea. Whether you live in a German, French, or English speaking country in Europe you will have the chance to jump in to TERA soon thanks to publisher Frogster who will localize the title. One look at the trailer after the break and you will see this enchanted world has a lot to offer including unique enemy styles, great looking environments, and some intense action sequences. There is even game-play footage thrown in and it doesn’t look half bad. The various abilities and classes characters teased in the trailer in addition to the epic and desperate feel of this title’s atmosphere alone make it a noteworthy release for any MMO gamer to be aware of. Enjoy the trailer (w/ Game-Play footage) and screens after the break.
