Dragon Age: Origins 2 Gets An Exact Release Date
1UP is reporting that inside copies of the Dragon Age: Origins – Awakening expansion, which hits store shelves next week, there is a printed confirmation of the exact release date for a sequel. That release date is February 1, 2011. That day does indeed fall on a Tuesday, the typical game release day for North America. Why announce it so early? To build up hype? I don’t think the franchise needs hype built up this early, if you ask me. The first game should speak for itself. But hey, if EA and Bioware are confident enough that they’ll have a nice, polished game done in just under a year from now, I’m all for it and I definitely look forward to it.
Paid Mass Effect 2 DLC Coming Our Way
Recently we’ve already talked about the Firewalker DLC and the arc projector weapon that will be available via the Cerberus Network for free to add into your Mass Effect 2 experience. Now Bioware announces that the first paid DLC for the game is right around the corner, as well. Coming in April, “Kasumi’s Stolen Memory” will be available for download, which adds a new character to recruit, as well as her personal mission which you have to do before she’ll help you out much. Check after the break for more details.

New Images From Civilization V Look Pretty
GDC is happening this week, in case you didn’t know, and some new images from the upcoming iteration of the Civilization franchise, the next full-featured PC game in the series. In the images – which you can see after the break – you get a much more detailed look at the terrain and some combat situations. I think the differing terrains work much better together and flow into each other nicer than in previous titles, but maybe that’s just me. Judge for yourself and take a look at t he new shots below, straight from the GDC.
More Free Mass Effect 2 Goodies
If you have the Cerberus Network on your copy of Mass Effect 2, look for more goodies upcoming besides the “Firewalker” mission pack. There is another new weapon that will show up for you, free of charge, via the Cerberus Network soon (if it hasn’t already). That weapon would be the arc projector. It is basically a big zap gun to, well, zap your enemies into nothingness. Check the details of the weapon and another pic after the break.
