Views: 118EA Claims Madden 11 is the Best-Selling Game of August
While the NPD numbers are yet to be revealed, Madden 11 is apparently the best selling video game title for the month of August. Not a group to respond modestly to success, EA went on to release the following statement about the game:
“Madden NFL 11 is the number one selling game in August, and the game has created enormous enthusiasm in the online community, each day on consoles, fans are playing as many games online as the equivalent of 750 full NFL seasons.”
EA also claims that sales of Madden are up 5% over last year across all consoles, that more than 2 million games of Madden are played each day, and that more than 20% of players have at least tried the Online Team Play game mode. Remember what I said about modesty?
It doesn’t come as much of a shock that Madden 11 would claim the top spot for sales in August. The series has consistently been a best seller on consoles. The official NPD numbers will be in later this month, just in case you wanted to know just how much of EA’s gloating is factual.

There is plenty of type surrounding the upcoming action/adventure title Tron: Evolution. Did I mention there will also be Tron film released this year?
Whether or not you’ve followed the franchise since 1982, you will most definitely be interested in the upcoming game when you see its classy Collector’s Edition. It includes a model of the light cycle, which is the iconic vehicle that only moved in directly parallel or horizontal lines.
Alongside this stylish model (which has glowing light, by the way), you’ll also get a display case for the model and premium casing for the game. At a luxurious $129.99, you’d expect a few more trinkets, but fans of Tron have no reason to pass this up. Unless of course, they can’t afford it. Tron: Evolution will release November 1st for the PC, PSP, PS3, Nintendo Wii and Xbox 360.

Views: 178Okamidem Demo Hits Japan’s Nintendo Channel
Okamiden might seem like a familiar word. That’s because it contains Okami in there – a game that was adored by the PlayStation 2 community during its run. Now, we’re being introduced to Okamiden; a game that takes place nine months after the events of Okami, centering around the children of previous characters.
Capcom, the nice folks that they are, has decided to distribute a demo of the upcoming DS game via the Wii Nintendo Channel in Japan next month. The demo, which will be available from September 8 through October 5 on the Wii, will also be distributed via “DS Station” download kiosks throughout Japan from September 9 through October 6. McDonald’s customers will be more than happy to hear that from September 10 through October 7, the game will be made available through Nintendo Zone connections. Now you can enjoy a greasy, cholesterol-infested Double Quarter Pounder with Cheese with a tub of soda and a side of yummy fries all while downloading and playing some Okamiden. You Japanese people are so spoiled.
No plans have been mentioned yet of the demo coming to North American before the game’s release. When we get word on this bewildering issue, we’ll make sure to let you guys know.
