Bethesda's Indiana Jones: What do we know so far?

Bethesda and Lucasfilm announced the Indiana Jones game this year in January. Of course, everyone familiar with the Indiana Jones movie franchise lost their mind after the announcement.

However, the studio didn't reveal anything about the game except for a short teaser video.

By looking at the short video, fans figured out that the game's story might occur in Vatican City. Also, the game may be set during 1937, when Indiana Jones was in his prime.

The official game announcement says, "The game will tell a wholly original, standalone tale set at the height of the career of the famed adventurer."

That's all we know about Bethesda's Indiana Jones. There's no information on the gameplay, release date, story, or anything else.

Anyway, everyone is expecting to hear something about the title at E3 2021. Well, honestly, it's best not to get too excited about it.

Should you expect a big Indiana Jones game reveal at E3 2021?

E3 is one of the biggest trade events for the video game industry, and Bethesda and Microsoft confirmed a joint event at E3 2021 on Sunday, June 13th, 2021. However, we won't likely see much of Indiana Jones at the event.

Firstly, Bethesda is right now putting all resources in the development of Starfield, which is confirmed to appear at the event.

Also, a tweet by Timur222 revealed the MachineGames lighting artist's LinkedIn post. In the post, we can see that the studio has started working on the Indiana Jones game. However, the image also reveals that the game's production started in March 2021. So it's been only a couple of months since the game has been in production.

Considering that, it's safe to say that Bethesda won't be ready to release the new Indiana Jones game before 2023. And since the studio already made an official announcement for the title in January, it's unlikely that they'll have anything else to reveal about the game this early.
