Developer Iron Galaxy recently revealed that its ogre-slaying action game Extinction will release for PC, PS4, and Xbox One on April 10. In order to give people a better idea of what exactly the game has to offer, a features trailer going over many different facets of Extinction was released.

The video begins with some of the game's producers explaining how Extinction is an action-heavy game set around Avil, the last Sentinels tasked with defending his world from evil Ravenii orcs who came to Avil's world through a mysterious portal. We also get a brief glimpse at some animated cutscenes that will likely be in the final game.

They then move onto focusing on Extinction's combat. Iron Galaxy is known for developing fighting games like Killer Instinct, so they channeled some of that expertise into Extinction's gameplay. According to the developers, there are a lot of high-level mechanics, like attack cancels, that require precise timing in order to be effective.

In order to kill the Ravenii, players will need to build up Rune energy by killing smaller enemies and completing various mission around the game's world. There are also quite a few different ways to climb around and traverse the environment in order to get the best position in relation to the Ravenii. While the graphics may be a bit lacking, the gameplay looks very fluid, tight, and fun, so I can't wait to try it for myself.

You can check out the brand new features trailer below. Extinction is poised to launch on PC, PS4, and Xbox One April 10.
