Season 4 of Fortnite Chapter 3 has only just begun, but details surrounding the beginning of Season 5 have already been leaked. A possible release date for Chapter 3 Season 5, as well as the server downtime length, have been revealed by Insider Gaming's Tom Henderson.

According to the new report from the industry insider, Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 5 is scheduled to begin on Monday, December 5th, 2022 at 3PM UTC. However, Henderson also reports that Chapter 3 Season 4 will come to an end on December 3rd, meaning the game's servers could be offline for 2 whole days.

This wouldn't be the first time fans have seen an extended period of server downtime at the beginning of a new chapter or season. When Chapter 1 first came to an end in 2019, Fortnite players were left staring into the void for around 37 hours before the game's servers came back online.

Henderson's report goes on to state that the next season of Fortnite will not be a part of a new chapter, and will instead continue Chapter 3. The next season will likely take players into 2023, but before the year comes to an end, there will reportedly be a total of eight new collaborations in store for players. However, the exact details of the collaborations were not provided.

There are still many months left to go until Season 5 rolls around, with plenty of content updates still in the works for the current season of Fortnite. Data miner and leaker ShiinaBR recently revealed that another Star Wars collaboration could be in the works, as in-game files suggest a Luke Skywalker skin is on the way. According to the leaker, in the recent update, Epic Games added two new versions of Skywalker's Lightsaber to the game files, with one of them including "A New Hope" branding, whilst the other features branding from "Return of The Jedi".

Of course, for the time being, we recommend you take the aforementioned details with a pinch of salt. Plans can often change behind the scenes before they come to fruition.
