As part of the recent Global Catch Challenge, Pokemon GO players have unlocked another brand new Pokemon in the game - Pancham.

After catching 500 million Fairy-type Pokemon in a little under a week, players unlocked Pancham, Triple XP and the opportunity to encounter a Shiny Galarian Ponyta.

As Galarian Ponyta can now be Shiny, players have been asking "Can Pancham or Pangoro be Shiny in Pokemon GO?" - here's your answer.

How Can I Find Pancham?

Currently, as was outlined by Niantic in the announcement, Pancham is only currently available in raids.

With the upcoming Luminous Legends Y event, there is the chance that Pancham will start appearing in the wild, however, there's also the chance that like other Pokemon, including Timburr, Pancham could remain a raid exclusive.

If you're unable to raid, there's always the possibility of trading for one.

What Does its Shiny Form Look Like?

Pancham usually looks like a typical panda, with distinctive black and white markings.

While its shiny form retains its markings, its colouring is subtly different, with the white patches turning a cream colour and the black parts turning different shades of brown.

Its evolution, Pangoro, follows a similar change, turning from black and white to cream and brown.

So, Can Pancham or Pangoro be Shiny in Pokemon GO?

As you'd imagine with a brand new Pokemon, unfortunately, the answer is no.

Niantic will naturally expect people to compete in Pancham Raids as it debuts in the game, meaning they can hold its shiny form back for another special occasion, thus, creating a second wave of hype around the same Pokemon.
