Newest Mafia II Add-On Offers More Than 30 Quests

Jimmy’s Vendetta, the newest add-on for 2K Games’ Mafia II has been released and by the looks this trailer and new screens, the new DLC is going to be packing quite the vengeful experience.

Players will get a chance to experience Empire Bay through the eyes of Jimmy, the mob’s most effective ally turned greatest enemy (who strangely resembles Bruce Willis in one part). Jimmy takes on the Italian and Irish mobs in an onslaught of new unlockable city quests, such as assassination and time vehicle pursuits that end in shootouts. Players will perform headshot or charged explosive executions, rack up points by performing vehicular power slides and jumps. Multipliers and combos will add bonus points to scores that post onto the new online leaderboards system, providing some extensive re-playability.

Jimmy’s Vendetta is available now for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC versions of the game for $9.99/800 Microsoft Points.

Mega Man Universe Gameplay Footage Revealed

The game-play for Mega Man Universe has been revealed! Capcom’s upcoming revisit to the classic franchise created by Keiji Inafune has been looked upon with much mystery, until now. Have the same 2.5D presentation you know and love for the series in the latest title to come from the series in which players will get to play as a wide variety of different Mega Man characters as well as many other Capcom characters, making this a cross-over Mega Man to be remembered. DeathSpank Thongs of Virtue Story Trailer Released

If you haven’t heard yet, DeathSpank is one heck of a downloadable title featuring the action-oriented role playing style of games like Fable or Diablo and contains a decent amount of quests, unique and interesting weapons, and outlandish humor. You can check out our interview with Hothead Games pertaining including talk of a weapon so awesome it had to be cut from the final build for further testing towards a future release.

Now a sequel is heading to PSN and Xbox Live called DeathSpank: Thongs of Virtue have been assembled to make the world a better place, each with a virtue of its own (for example the Thong of Justice) but when these thongs became a source of evil instead of good, it’s up to DeathSpank to recover these thongs which have corrupted those who were entrusted to be heroic icons of the world. Yakuza 4 Announced w/ Trailer

Yakuza 4 is making it’s way stateside and with fury the crime syndicate fighting / action title is arriving on the PlayStation 3 exclusively. There is a time for words and then there is a time for war. Check out the announcement trailer after the break and guess which time it is. Sega of America has scheduled Yakuza 4 for release in the window of Spring 2011.

Capcom has released Dead Rising 2: Case Zero exclusively on Xbox Live. Be the first to peer into the world of Dead Rising 2, and be introduced to the new protagonist of the story, Chuck Greene, as well as new weapons, features and boss fights before Dead Rising 2’s official release on September 28th, 2010 in North America, and on September 24th in Europe.

Case Zero is the prologue to Dead Rising 2 and links the original and the sequel together, being able to experience the full Dead Rising story like never before. Character attributes that are collected throughout your gameplay, such as player level and prestige points (skills, combo cards and outfits) will carry over into the main game, which is a definite plus.

Mafia II Review

Mafia II gives you the opportunity to relive 1943 to 1957 in American history where cops and robbers each had a grand role. You play Vito Scaletta an up-and-coming wise-guy wanna-be with the usual appetites for money, cars, women and power. Does Mafia II provide you the experience of a Don or do you come up short and get whacked? Read on and find out.

The game embarks with Vito coming back from World War II and meeting up with his old buddy Joe Barbaro who is a clear Joe Pesci look alike. Vito gets discharged from the military thanks to Joe and his shady connections and from there on out it is time to start the shenanigans. Vito quickly learns of a debt his family owes and embarks on a quest to get them out of trouble with Joe.

Interview: Creator Reveals Inspirations, Atmosphere, and Technology of Replika

DualShockers recently had the pleasure and the privilege to speak with Biodroid Entertainment’s Bruno Patatas, Creator of Replika, in an in-depth interview that shines light on upcoming Action / Strategy game for PSN with a cyberpunk theme and a dedicated focus on single player experience. We found out a lot about the game and the universe it takes place in during this interview including the inspiration behind the story and atmosphere, the implementation of Stereoscopic 3D HD, what it’s like working with the PS3, and much more. We hope you enjoy this interview that should bring Replika out of its shrouded mystery and give some intimate insight on the game as well as the creative process behind it. We even got to learn about some of the technology in the game including the LIFE engine. Bruno was a great sport with our bombardment of questions and gave us a great read in response!

GamesCom 2010: inFAMOUS 2 Trailer Sings a Song of Cole’s Struggle

Today during GamesCom 2010, some great new titles were revealed to all of us gamers out there. Among one of the reveals was the newest trailer for Sucker Punch’s upcoming open-world action title, inFamous 2. The cinematic atmosphere of this trailer is one of sorrow as Cole’s struggle is displayed to the world. Take a look at the trailer after the jump, and (wait for it) see if you notice anything new about our favorite little Empire City messenger boy.

New TERA Concept Art and Back-story Info Released

Words cannot describe the dark and god-like art style contained by TERA the PC game from Bluehole Studio (and being localized by Frogster). The new concept art renders will take you even further into the Divine War taking place in this Action RPG of the MMO variety. With this art we are also given a “glimpse” into the back-story and setting for TERA that should have blood curdling and skin peeling in no time. The main feature that will attract a lot of attention is the lack of a lock-on aiming system allowing hardcore gamers to pwn or die by their own hand and no longer get the handouts of some of the more hand-holding traditional MMOs. The Mafia II Demo Goes Online Today

2K Games is giving gamers that “try before you buy” option that we cheap bastards love to bits. There newest action title Mafia II, has a playable demo that is available as of today on the PS3, PC, and Xbox 360.

With the game releasing later this month, most would say it’s not a day too late either. 2K urges contemplating fans to try the new demo. Sporting a unique ambience linked directly to its 1940s setting, Mafia II looks to be one hell of a game. Check out this excerpt from the advisory:

While the game spans two eras, the Mafia II demo invites gamers to dive into the “Buzzsaw” level, which takes place during the summer of the ‘50s – a time considered the “Birth of Cool”, and with it, rock ‘n’ roll, hot rods, and rebellious attitudes. In the demo, Vito Scaletta and his buddies, Joe and Henry, are sent to take out a mobster known as “The Fat Man”. This mission showcases the vibrant edge-of-your-seat action, era-evoking cars, memorable characters, and a snapshot of the expansive city of Empire Bay in this colorful era.

You’d be crazy not to at least try this title at the perfect price of free.  This is especially true for rabid fans that’ve been waiting for this game for months. Mafia II hits store shelves in America August 24th.
