Will Resident Evil 6 Be Coming Out Sooner Than Expected?

res logo

It’s been over a year since we last saw the latest installment in the Resident Evil series, but already Capcom is hoping to put Resident Evil 6 in the hands of gamers as soon as possible. Capcom’s Keiji Inafune made this statement in his 3DJuegos interview:

“Given the great success which led to us Resident Evil 5, we want Resident Evil 6 to hit the market as soon as possible…In fact, Capcom will have news about this soon…”

Soon, you say? Maybe as soon as Tokyo Game Show? Looks like we’ll have to wait and see!

Keiji Inafune Comments On Devil May Cry 5

devil-may-cry-4-12a

It has been more than two and a half years since the release of Devil May Cry 4 on the PS3 and Xbox 360. Since that time, we have heard absolutely nothing on the next entry in this storied franchise. Hardly confirming it, head of R&D and designer for Capcom said to Spanish gaming site 3D Juegos:

Devil May Cry 5 is a game that, when started development, this will change a lot in relation to the above. The reason is that, despite the franchise has some very loyal followers, their sales are not particularly high, especially overseas. For this reason, it is likely that in the fifth chapter will incorporate certain “Western touch” to make it more attractive to American and European players.

So it’s nice to know that we’ll be getting the game eventually right? I suppose, but no further details have been revealed about the title. Let’s cross our fingers and hope that the game makes an appearance  at the Tokyo Game Show.

Dead Rising 2: Case Zero Impressions

dead rising 2 case zero1
Are you curious about picking up the new Dead Rising 2: Case Zero prologue, exclusively on Xbox Live? Well, if you are at all wondering what is in store for you with this title, look no further because I have some gameplay footage for you.

I sat down with fellow DualShocker Jon Ireson and we discussed a few of the things to expect from this awesome zombie-bashing title from Capcom, such as weapons, points system and simply just how fun this title was, and of course we also had to poke a little fun at each other as well.

Although, Dead Rising 2: Case Zero was made exclusively to Xbox 360, those who are on the PlayStation 3 and Windows PC will be able to take the reigns as Chuck Greene in Dead Rising 2 when it hits store shelves later in the month.

Take a look at the break for the footage of Dead Rising 2: Case Zero.

Yun and Yang Coming to Super Street Fighter IV Arcades?

yun-and-yang-2

According to the latest Arcadia magazine, Yun and Yang’s appearance in Super Street Fighter IV arcade machines will likely happen. If you remember not too long ago, Capcom was giving subtle (yet obvious) hints towards characters to appear in the console version of Super Street Fighter IV. Throwing stars were shown indicating Ibuki’s appearance. Blue boxing gloves were sent to various journalists indicating Dudley’s appearance. So the same reveal process has been used for Yun and Yang. Dead Rising 2: Case Zero is Now Available Exclusively on Xbox Live

dead rising 2 case zero1

Capcom has released Dead Rising 2: Case Zero exclusively on Xbox Live. Be the first to peer into the world of Dead Rising 2, and be introduced to the new protagonist of the story, Chuck Greene, as well as new weapons, features and boss fights before Dead Rising 2’s official release on September 28th, 2010 in North America, and on September 24th in Europe.

Case Zero is the prologue to Dead Rising 2 and links the original and the sequel together, being able to experience the full Dead Rising story like never before. Character attributes that are collected throughout your gameplay, such as player level and prestige points (skills, combo cards and outfits) will carry over into the main game, which is a definite plus.

Dead Rising 2: Case Zero will be available for 400 Microsoft Points, so how about we go put our zombie-slaughtering skills to test.

Capcom Announces High Stakes Edition for Dead Rising 2

Dead-Rising-2-Box-3-727x1024

I’ve always been a fan of zombies, whether shooting them in the head in video games or watching them stagger around looking for braaaains in cheesy B-rated horror flicks. The story of the dead walking the world has been around long before you and I were ever here. The idea of being overrun by a horde of the once-living is a bit creepy in my book, but have you ever considered that maybe the zombie apocalypse happens because the Devil just decided to kick the lazy ones out of Hell? Meh. Maybe we’ll never know.

I guess we will just have to enjoy ourselves in the greatness that is survival horror games in the meantime, and with that said, Capcom is bringing us quite the delicious basket of goodies for Dead Rising 2. The Dead Rising 2 High Stakes Edition includes the full game, costume and skills DLC, a poker set and an array of Dead Rising and Fortune City-themed items that make the free stuff you get for joining casinos in Vegas look like toys from McDonald’s (no offense, McD). One lucky Charlie Bucket will receive a golden ticket and a chance for a 6 foot tall zombie replica.

The Dead Rising 2 High Stakes Edition is available for pre-order now, only at the Capcom Online Store. Supplies are limited so get there while the gettin’ is good and have the game in your hands on the day of the game’s release on September 28, 2010.

Okamidem Demo Hits Japan’s Nintendo Channel

147358-okamiden

Okamiden might seem like a familiar word. That’s because it contains Okami in there – a game that was adored by the PlayStation 2 community during its run. Now, we’re being introduced to Okamiden; a game that takes place nine months after the events of Okami, centering around the children of previous characters.

Capcom, the nice folks that they are, has decided to distribute a demo of the upcoming DS game via the Wii Nintendo Channel in Japan next month. The demo, which will be available from September 8 through October 5 on the Wii, will also be distributed via “DS Station” download kiosks throughout Japan from September 9 through October 6.  McDonald’s customers will be more than happy to hear that from September 10 through October 7, the game will be made available through Nintendo Zone connections. Now you can enjoy a greasy, cholesterol-infested Double Quarter Pounder with Cheese with a tub of soda and a side of yummy fries all while downloading and playing some Okamiden. You Japanese people are so spoiled.

No plans have been mentioned yet of the demo coming to North American before the game’s release. When we get word on this bewildering issue, we’ll make sure to let you guys know.

GamesCom 2010: Two New Characters Confirmed for Marvel vs. Capcom 3

Marvel-vs-Capcom-3-2-1024x576

Confirmed to fight among the all-star cast already set for Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds are Dormammu and Viewtiful Joe. Dormammu had already been seen in the full opening cinematic for the game, and Viewtiful Joe had been seen in the background of one of the stages as a giant float. Both characters were already heavily hinted to appear in the game, so it comes as no surprise that these two characters have made their way into the roster. Nonetheless, it’s still very exciting.
