Kratos Strikes Again With The New God of War: Ghosts of Sparta Trailer

All those God of War fans out there who are interested in seeing what revenge driven and overly brutal thing Kratos is doing today, get ready for a treat. New footage has been released for God of War: Ghosts of Sparta that shows off more of the game’s jaw dropping visuals along with a new environment. This trailer shows Kratos’ “battle” with King Midas in a volcanic environment. Now I say “battle” because this is a battle in the same sense that me beating up an eighty year old man in poor health is a battle. None the less the trailer shows off the epic combat that the game is known for while also incorporating a character from Greek Mythology that many of us already know, King Midas, golden touch and all. So check out the trailer below the break and see what you think.

The Clash Of The Titans Video Game is Available Now

Surely you’ve seen Clash of the Titans; a recent blockbuster featuring horrific giant monsters, stunning special effects and 3D viewing options. It was based on a film of the same name from decades earlier, and all in all, it was pretty big. Gamers concurred that the movie brought video game titles like God of War to mind, and it went without saying that the movie could make a seamless transition to consoles. This is even truer when you consider how many movie-game crossovers that didn’t seem like a good idea. Well that concept has finally come to fruition as today marks the release of The Clash of the Titans video game. Developed by Game Republic and published by WBIE, Clash of the Titans is set to become a must by for fans of the movie. If you haven’t seen the movie or didn’t care for it, you should still give this game a look because it provides an epic adventure that is able to exceed the film in how it engages the viewer (player). Also because everyone knows that games are fifty times more engaging than even the most exciting film. Clash of the Titans is available at retailers as of July 27th.

HipHopGamerShow 7/25/10 Talks God of War, PS Move Sports Champions, Drake Going Platinum, and More

This week’s HipHopGamerShow is a must-see (as usual) and covers topics like Sony’s upcoming Games + Movies on one Blu-ray bundle program, hip-hop artist Drake going platinum, the accuracy of PS Move Sports Champions and much more. It’s Sunday, you’ve got nothing else to do (as HHG’s saying goes), and you really need to see this show. HHG goes in depth on some of the God of War greatness that can be expected in the future in addition to a multitude of topics and will not leave you disappointed. The world champion game journalist even breaks down the differences between Bulletstorm’s PC and console editions (which seem to be slim to none) and of course will have some special surprises for us in this week’s show so check it out.

God of War: Ghost of Sparta = PSP Maxed Out

Absolutely ridiculous. That’s really  the only way I can describe the latest handheld God of War title from the team at Ready at Dawn. The same guys that brought us all God of War: Chains of Olympus have not only raised the bar but pretty much “maxed out” what can be done on the PSP. I had the chance to chat with Eric Koch who is a Senior Producer at Sony Santa Monica (who also pitched in their help on the title) all about Kratos’ latest bloody romp. The man had plenty to say and it was definitely enough to make anyone want to run out and buy PSP (or dust off the one they already own) just for this game. Take a look at the video interview below!

***Note*** The game is so good that Hiphopgamer was speechless in the background while playing it. If that doesn’t say a lot, I’m not sure what will.

Are Turn-Based RPGs Missing a Huge Gameplay Opportunity?

I’ve been thinking about this for a ridiculously long time now, so I’m just going to come out and say what is seeming to be more and more obvious each year. In my opinion, turn-based games that are trying to become more innovative have been missing out on a huge opportunity since day one. Far be it from me to judge a game, never-mind an entire genre, based on fantasy features that I feel are missing. But this is one of those obvious ones that is glaring in my face every time I play a Role Playing Game. Read on for what I perceive to be a huge game play opportunity that RPG games are missing out on, see if you agree that this is an obvious step forward for the genre that should have been taken decades ago.

PlayStation Store Update 2/25

Well hello readers, it is Thursday, which means it is my favorite day of the week, PlayStation Store day. The biggest sale item for the week is Warhawk and its DLC. Make sure you get extra greedy with Greed Corps this week. If you want to experience an old RPG, the Grandia is for you. We get two amazing demos this week, if you haven’t played the God Of War demo, get on it NOW! Also, there is a Darksiders demo as well, which is something that should be played as well. A metric crap ton of good DLC releases this week, with new DLC from Little Big Planet, Borderlands, Uncharted 2, and Valkryia Chronicles. This week also brings MAG dynamic themes, so you can further show your allegiance to your faction. Speaking of loyalty, there are also some Baseball team themes for MLB 10 The Show.

On the PSP front we have 2 new releases: Echoshift and GTI Club Supermini Fiesta. Also there are several new minis; however, I have to complain about the pricing on these once again. Other than that, the PSP update is a bit barren. The PS3 update alone makes this week an incredibly update. Go spend some money. Full update available after the break.
