Rock Band 3 Avatar Marketplace for Xbox Live Has Arrived

With the MTV Video Music Awards coming in 10 days and the launch of Rock Band 3 coming in October, music is definitely on the horizon. To kick off the launch of both RB3 and the MTV VMA’s, Harmonix and MTV Games launched a worldwide Rock Band 3 Avatar Store on Xbox Live, which features exclusive MTV Video Music Awards and Rock Band 3 themed collections for fans’ avatars for the Xbox 360.

Also on the Rock Band 3 Avatar Store, fans can join a long line of memorable acceptance speeches when they purchase the MTV Moonman statue by September 22nd, 2010. The Rock Band 3 Avatar Store features full outfits, accessories, props, and musical instruments that you can purchase for you Xbox Live avatar to wear. The items available range from 80 to 400 Microsoft Points.

Entire Rock Band 3 Track List Revealed

Rock Band 3 is a game that seeks to redefine the music video game genre with its Pro Modes, addition of the keyboard, ability to use a real guitar, and earth shattering list of a massive amount of song support. We brought you tracks previously announced for Rock Band 3, now we have the entire list ready for your consumption. This is a massive amount of tracks and doesn’t even include the backwards compatibility the title will bolster which include Rock Band, Rock Band 2, DLC and track packs, LEGO Rock Band, and even Green Day: Rock Band track lists as well as the ever-growing community of Rock Band Network songs. The Black Keys and Neon Trees Arriving in the Rock Band Music Store

Harmonix and MTV have announced that two rock bands will be making their debut on Rock Band, August 17. Tracks from The Black Keys and Neon Trees will release simultaneously in the Rock Band Music Store for Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii.

“We’re excited to be part of the Rock Band world because the game really introduces artists to young kids,” said Tyler Glenn, lead vocalist and keyboardist for Neon Trees. “Any video game introducing kids to The Replacements and old REM is something I can get behind.”

I wonder who gets more excited, the bands or the players? Maybe it’s a mutual moment of excitement. Anyhow…here are the six tracks that will be releasing, and as you can see, there are three tracks from the respective bands:

• The Black Keys – “Strange Times”
• The Black Keys – “I Got Mine”
• The Black Keys – “Your Touch”
• Neon Trees – “Animal”
• Neon Trees – “Sins of My Youth”
• Neon Trees – “1983”

Each individual track is about $2 (160 Microsoft Points, 200 Wii Points), or can be bought as The Black Keys Pack 01 and the Neon Trees Pack 01 at about $5.50 (440 Microsoft Points) each. Unfortunately, there are no packs for Wii.

More Tracks Confirmed for Dance Central + Rock Band 3

Check it out, you can drop it like it’s hot, push it push it, and bust a move foolin’ on all the beautiful people who want to rule the world. No I did not just lose my mind, those are all track titles that you can experience in the upcoming titles Dance Central and/or Rock Band 3. The news comes straight from MTV Games / Harmonix that all tracks are master recordings for the following set list and even more tracks will surely be announced in the months to come. Get Ready to Rock with Rock Band 3 Pre-Order Bonuses

Harmonix and MTV Games, like many others who showcased their games at E3, have announced their pre-order bonus’ for purchasing Rock Band 3. Now I bet your wondering, what kind of pre-order bonus’ could Rock Band 3 possibly have? Well here is the interesting part, your pre-order bonus depends on where you pre-order the game. For instance, putting five dollars down at GameStop on this will net you three bonus tracks. These tracks are: “Burning Down the House” by Talking Heads, “My Own Summer” by Deftones and “Blue Monday” by New Order.

If you pre-order through Amazon you will receive an exclusive in game guitar. Also for a limited time if you pre-order Rock Band 3 for PS3 of Xbox 360 on Amazon, you will also receive ten dollars of a future purchase. Finally if, for a limited time only, you pre-order at Wal-Mart you will receive a ten dollar eGift card. Green Day: Rock Band Review

It seems like there is no stop to the inertia that Rock Band has created and they are not afraid to go in different and very specific directions to push units. The most recent entry into the franchise is Green Day: Rock Band, which is exactly what it advertises to be, a Rock Band game with a Green Day skin and feel. Does it deliver hard punk rock action or fizzle out? Well, this really depends on how much you like Green Day. Seriously.

This version of Rock Band will quickly be compared to Beatles Rock Band and really that will be its downfall. What I mean by that is that Beatles Rock Band served as a more iconic view into a generational, influential band, while I don’t think the same can be said for the Green Day version. The simplest way to sum up Green Day: Rock Band is to take Rock Band 2, remove the ability to create your own avatar, insert Green Day characters and songs, and viola.

Nickelback Coming to Rock Band

You all better get your prepaid cards ready, Harmonix and MTV Games have announced that Nickelback will be arriving on Rock Band. The Canadian rockers will debut in the Rock Band Music store for Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii.

Rock Band 3 Video Interview / Preview

E3 2010: Harmonix Shows Off Dance Central

MTV Games and Harmonix have a Kinect driven dance game coming for all the dance fanatics out there. Dance Central will be arriving for Xbox 360 this Holiday.

After hearing it here first, we all knew it was a going to happen  we just didn’t know if we would have to wait until E3 to see it. And now thanks to USA Today, we don’t. That image you see above is actually an in-game shot for Harmonix’s upcoming Rock Band 3. And sorry to Yaris, who originally reported it here but it is in fact a full keyboard. Your hopes and dreams of playing the keytar and starting a plastic instrument 80’s band are now officially over. The Prince of Darkness Makes Rock Band Debut

Harmonix and MTV Games today announced that rock legend Ozzy Osbourne, will make his Rock Band debut June 15 with a whopping six songs. All the tracks will be making their way to the Rock Band Music Store on Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii.
