Modern Warfare 2 DLC Coming March 30

Do you suffer from Mapathy? Infinity Ward has the cure. Modern Warfare 2 fans now have a date to go with the DLC announcement: March 30. The DLC will first be released for the Xbox 360 and later for the PS3 and PC editions. A post on Twitter by Robert Bowling, aka FourZeroTwo, has confirmed the date, read on for details.

Activision Being Sued by Former Infinity Ward Employees

Looks like David is going after Goliath. A suit has been filed by former Infinity Ward employees Jason West and Vince Zampella. The suit lists “Breach of Contract” as the most eye catching. Each was set to be paid royalty from the release of Modern Warfare 2, and both were let go for insubordination and breach of fiduciary duty before any payment was made.

Security Appears Unannounced At Infinity Ward

When your involved in Corporate America, the sight of large strangers showing up at your company can mean only one thing, somebody is getting the boot. And today at Infinity Ward it seems the boot went to Infinity Ward CTO Jason West, who along with studio head Vince Zampella, met with the brass from Activision this morning. And I don’t think it was to talk about the next installment in the Call of Duty series.

Can Infinity Ward Save MW2 with DLC?

We were all prepared for what was being called not the next big thing, but the thing. After Trey-Arch had finished up and brought out Call of Duty World at War, we all knew it was Infinity Ward’s turn again and the huge undertaking it would take to top Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. Modern Warfare is one of the greatest shooters of all time and has sold millions of units since it’s launch. It was the defining game of the Call of Duty series. Question was, what was Infinity Ward going to do to top all of that? And could they?

Announced by Infinity Ward today, the Care Package Patch is up and running for the Xbox 360 and PS3. Gamers have been complaining that Infinity Ward and Activision were taking way too long with this update. Game play has become almost impossible in the last few weeks due to the Infinite Car Package Glitch. So Sandy Ravage, you can take a few days off until the next glitch is up and running. Modern Warfare 2 Best Selling Game of 2009

Modern Warfare 2 has officially been named the best selling game in the world for 2009. This comes as really no surprise to anyone that has been following the mega hit by Activision and Infinity Ward. The overall numbers are indeed staggering, 11.86m units overall, comprised of 8.82m US sales, 2.80m UK sales and 237,500 Japanese sales. When you think about how overwhelming this is for any game, you have to look at how far MW2 finished ahead of second place Wii Sports Resort which managed a global 7.57m units. One of the best selling games of all time, Modern Warfare 2 was also one of the most marketed games of all time. Looks like it paid off in the end. DualShockers is left to wonder if the numbers would have been as high if gamers had known so many problems would come with the hit? Probably not. Here is the list of best selling games of 2009.

Newest Modern Warfare 2 Glitch Drains Your XP?

I watch this video and it really disappoints me to see so many gamers resorting to this kind of cheating. And it is cheating. Really surprises me that Infinity Ward can not get a handle on all the tampering that is happening in this game. Seems like you can’t even turn on Modern Warfare 2 without someone changing the game to their favor and making it one of the most unfun experiences ever. This latest glitch is certainly a doozy. It was used by a player who wanted to drain XP from other gamers. Although he states he only used it one time to teach others a lesson, it is really pathetic that neither Infinity Ward nor Microsoft can get a handle on the situation. Sad is more like it. Why even buy a game if your experience is going to be ruined by people who have found an unfair advantage?

Gamers should take a stand against these cheaters, Infinity Ward, Microsoft, Sony, and Activision by not playing any of these games until the problem is fixed and a player can actually get online and not have to worry about wasting their time with a game that’s outcome will be decided by some hacker who wants to teach someone a lesson for a day. No matter what version your playing, console or PC, you have to deal with this sort of nonsense that quite frankly has no place in these games. If you suck enough to have to cheat, then here is a little advice, go play chess or cards and leave the gaming to people who actually love to play and not to piss off the world. Peace.

MW2 Multiplayer Is a Hot Mess

Infinity Ward brought us Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, which many gamers were calling a masterpiece and possibly the next best thing since sliced bread, but alas it seems the franchise has taken a sharp turn into a dark region, known as the crap zone. The multiplayer on each platform is plagued with issues from players having the ability to hit their 10th prestige without earning it on the PS3, to players having speed hacks on the PC version, to just an utter loss of control of matches on the Xbox 360. there have even been matches where players do not reload and have infinite ammo during death matches, Infinity Ward needs to get on these issues before players lose interest in taking part in a multiplayer system that is obviously not working.

I have to say that I play mostly on the Xbox 360 and matches over Xbox Live are a terrible mess. I like to play 3rd person tactical (yes I guess I am in the minority here) and every time I try to “Find a Match” it loads up a random game that sometimes has nothing to do with 3rd person tactical at all. I have spawned into matches on Rust, which is a very small map, where it has been “glitched” into an 18 person free for all in which a kill against anyone gives you points. I have taken part in matches where the cross hairs to aim have disappeared and you are literally shooting from the hip. I have even taken part in games where you spawn and literally seconds in you are already dead or seen a player take aim at a harrier with a javelin and have the rockets come back and hit him. 3rd person can even turn into an FPS match, go figure.

Infinity Ward needs to address these issues in a fast tracked manner because if not the fans of their game will quickly become frustrated with this as I am getting. The other night I played on a map where the creator made the match only via a tactical nuclear launch, which on small maps with 18 players running around is a feat that will almost never happen as the probability of you getting shot in the face before racking up 25 kills is very high. In essence I was locked into a never ending game but didn’t realize this until I had already spent a good 15 to 20 minutes of my time wasted. I was literally a prisoner of Modern Warfare 2 and a very frustrated game that night.

The major problem with the current affairs of map glitchs on the Xbox 360 is that you as a gamer have no control of what kind of map you are joining. If I knew that the game were glitched I would not join, but I have no choice as it throws me and I will not know until I go into the game. Many gamers are losing patience with what is going on, while some are using the exploits to quickly boost their way through the ranks or unlock different attachments for guns. The other problem is that once the creator of the game leaves the glitches do not fix themselves so you are still playing 18 player matches in maps that are not designed for that volume of players which leads to lag issues and just a general change in strategy as you can no longer play the maps as they are intended.

I am curious to see how Infinity Ward plans on handling this new batch of issues hot on the heels to their patch aimed at fixing the dreaded javelin glitch? At least the javelin glitch was something annoying but was not something that completely changed how the games are played or how long games take. Can we expect massive bannings or just a patch to fix the current hot mess that is called Modern Warfare 2? Many have brought into question the QA at Infinity Ward and how much testing went into the game in the first place in order to have a multiplayer that is almost entirely screwed up.

Modern Warfare 2 10th Prestige Hack

When you think of people who hack, it is usually someone who wants to give the illusion of being good at a game, from wall hacks to aimbots, they all work at giving some gamers a feeling of gratification. Well, if you thought hackers would call it a day after the Javelin hack, then you are more naive than you look. (Yes, I am aware of the boosting hack as well as the other glitches) It seems like the hottest hack is a PS3 exclusive (for now). This hack is one that will get you to your 10th prestige in only a few minutes.

What you do is you download some save files and throw them on a flashdrive. After that you copy the files onto your PS3. Then you turn on your PS3 and open multiplayer to get the playlists and such. Go to split screen and load up the hack save, after getting errors you open up the gsy save and then go to multiplayer and you are lvl70, then you enable prestige and you are on your 10th prestige. However, this hack does not modify your stats, so most players will know you are bullshit.

Personally, I don’t know why you would hack. If your self-esteem is that low, I don’t think having a 10th prestige will really make it any better… Check out the video for a complete walk through and the needed files. I, for one, will not be doing this, I’m an honest gamer. Let’s hope Infinity Ward fixes this as soon as they can, and I also hope they roll back stats on those players that use this hack.
