Here’s the Japanese trailer for the upcoming Kirby game, Kirby’s Epic Yarn. The game is as much charming as it is eye-catching and just overflowing with cuteness. According to reports from a Japanese retail event, Super Mario All-Stars will be released on Nintendo Wii in disc form. To go on sale October 21st, the re-release of the compilation classic is to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Super Mario Bros. The title is set to go on sale for 2,500 yen, which is $30 in U.S. dollars.
The Wii version of the Super Nintendo game that included 4 games in 1 will also include a “Super Mario History 1985-2010″ booklet, and a CD of Mario music ranging from the originals all the way up to Super Mario Galaxy 2.
It is unknown if this awesome title will be arriving in North America, but it would be a great injustice if it doesn’t. We love Mario just as much!

Views: 156Steve Jobs: “We’ve Sold More Handhelds than Nintendo and Sony Combined”
Today Steve Jobs took the stage at his yearly music conference at the Apple Yerba Buena location in California. Every year, Jobs takes this time to showcase some of the upcoming products its iPod line of music players. This morning was no different as Jobs presented on lookers as well as live-streamers 3 new additions to the iPod family.
If you recall back to earlier this year during the iOS4 presentation and the announcement of the upcomming Gamecenter, Apple made it very clear who it’s competitors are by showing off some rather glaring statistics and differences between Nintendo and Sony’s effort, and what the iPhone and iPod Touch platform has achieved in less time. Today Jobs calls them out both again. This time by letting them know who wears the handheld crown. Take a look at the slide below.

We knew a new Golden Sun game was coming, but we didn’t exactly know it was coming this soon. Nintendo dropped a bomb on us today – along with the announcement that they would be dropping the price of two DSi models, they let us know that Golden Sun: Dark Dawn will be releasing for the DS on November 29, 2010.
Golden Sun: Dark Dawn takes place 30 years after the first two Golden Sun games, introducing us to some new faces and a newly changed world. Naturally, the quest that players will undergo here takes them from humble beginnings on a journey to save the world. I haven’t heard that one before, have you?
Needless to say, a good portion of the game will focus on what is being called Djinn, or spirits that give their owner powerful abilities. There are over 70 different Djinn within the game to collect and use to your advantage throughout various story segments. They can be used to help you anywhere from battle to completing puzzles to destroying obstacles.
So, RPG fans have one more reason to celebrate this fall, especially fans of the original Golden Sun titles, which has definitely built a cult following over the years.
Views: 133Nintendo DSi Prices Are Going Down
Starting September 12th, the price for Nintendo DSi and DSi XL will be dropping $20.00 respectively. That puts the regular Nintendo DSi at 149.99 and the Nintendo DSi XL at $169.99.
“We know shoppers want to get the maximum value out of every dollar they spend,” said Cammie Dunaway, Nintendo of America’s executive vice president of Sales & Marketing. “Our new Nintendo DSi prices make it easier than ever for consumers to access the tremendous variety of games, applications and social tools on the Nintendo DSi and Nintendo DSi XL systems.”
Unfortunately, the Nintendo DS lite will still remain $129.99. I think it is interesting to note that a system that has been out for almost 6 years, no matter how much it has been “upgraded,” launched at $149.99 and will still sell well at that price. It is a true testament to how successful the Nintendo DS systems have been for Nintendo.
Views: 134Move is No Better Than Kinect
You know it kills me; nowadays people just can’t get enough of talking about how Microsoft’s Kinect is terrible, not appealing, and just overall a complete mess. I’m not saying I disagree with these claims. The first word that comes to mind when I think of Kinect is boring. Honestly, all the game-play videos and games just look like complete garbage, and I can’t believe they expect people to pay $150 for it. I think it takes a very specific kind of consumer for Kinect to look enjoyable at all.
Yeah the voice commands and what not are cool, but what kind of gamer do they think will pay $150 for that functionality? So, since we’ve all confirmed that I too think that Kinect will suck eggs, on to the real meat of the motion gaming fetish: the PlayStation Move. It seems like everyone has very low expectations for Kinect (which again I understand) but everyone is behaving as if Move will be the best thing to hit the PlayStation this year. This is what I do not agree with.
Views: 598Nintendo Download: Paper Worlds And Some
A handful of games are releasing this week via Nintendo Download. As usual, some games sound and look great, while others are as appealing as a pile of dookie on a sterling silver platter. The award-winning And Yet It Moves makes its way onto the WiiWare, inviting players to mess with the laws of physics and “turn their worlds upside-down.” Rather than sitting here and going through the list of games that are making their way onto your Nintendo systems, it’s best if I list them. So, without further adeu I present you with the what’s to come (after the break).
Views: 148Nintendo Downloads: This Week’s ‘Amazing’ Releases
Another week and we’re blessed with the abundantly rich lineup of Nintendo releases for both the Wii and the DSi. A lot of what’s on the list might be considered shovelware to some [erherm] me [/eherm], but there are some disfigured people out there who probably enjoy every single drop of what Nintendo dishes out every week. No quarrels with them – they’re children, or mentally incapable of learning to count past twenty, so we put these out week-to-week to accommodate their tastes, and to provide bewildered parents with options aside from the constantly promoted shooter which depicts blood and gore. Ugh – we don’t want your kids witnessing such egregious visuals.
So to relish and nourish your child’s mind before they turn to teenagers and join the hardcore crowd in playing M-rated games, we have provided you with a list of goodies that you, your child, or Corky from “Life Goes On” will definitely enjoy. You can check the list after the jump.

Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Skies Review
Dragon Quest is such a long-standing and beloved franchise, which makes reviewing the latest title both easy and difficult, at the same time. My first RPG experience was with the original Dragon Warrior (it’s title in the U.S. way back in the day), so there are many aspects to these games that still ring nostalgic in my mind. But, at the same time, the franchise has some very old hold-overs that are still around from the early days and I find it hard to understand why they’re still around in this day and age. Those things by no means make this a horrible game, because they are franchise staples, for all intents and purposes. On the other hand, if I was a developer making an RPG today, I don’t know if I would think those things would translate well to a modern audience, especially one that is a bit jaded on the whole JRPG genre in general.
Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Skies is the first time the franchise has released a brand new, numbered title on a handheld platform. The previous game in the series was on the PS2, and I loved it…well, except for the fact that it had many of the same hold-overs as this new game does. I’ll get to talking about those later on in the review. As always, I like delving into the story and characters first, because to me, that will define every minute of an RPG.
Views: 79319Many Details Revealed for The Last Story
One of the most mysterious RPGs of the last several months has been Mistwalker’s The Last Story, a Wii-exclusive title from the developers who brought us Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey. I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again – these upcoming RPGs are making the Wii look good. I’ve never seen any game on the system look this good. Who’s with me?
So, onto the details that were added to the game’s official site today. It seems the bulk of the game takes place on the island of Ruri. There is what I’m assuming to be an evil empire that inhabits the mainland, and they’ve destroyed the planet, basically. It’s your typical story – constant war, economic hardship and such. On Ruri, though, the island is still rich in natural resources and the inhabitants live in relative seclusion.
The city of – wait for it – Ruri Ruri sits at the island’s center, which is a place of trade and commerce for the inhabitants. In the screens below you’ll see just how detailed the city looks, and that is quite impressive. Of course, this city is also somewhat of a refuge for mercenaries, who come to Ruri to escape the empire’s watchful eye.
Elsa is one such mercenary, and is our main character in this story. He does odd jobs which pay the bills, and that brings him to Ruri, where an employer has a job for him to perform. Another of the few details about Elsa is that he has always dreamed a being an imperial knight, for some reason. (Why do they always dream of being a knight?)
While on this job, or mission, Elsa uncovers a mysterious power that he can’t explain. This power gives him abilities in combat and, I’m assuming, is a huge plot point throughout the story.
That is about all I can make out for now, but I’ve included nearly 30 new screens from the game below for your perusal. Some even include game play. You can thank me later.

During the E3 expo in Los Angeles this year Nintendo’s show arguably packed the biggest punch out of the big three players. Although there had been reports hinting at a 3D version of Nintendo’s popular handheld weeks before the show, the actual announcement and unveiling of the hardware had people going crazy.
