Music Unlimited Coming to a PS3 Near You Later This Year
Sony has revealed at IFA 2010 the new cloud-based music service that will be available for PlayStation 3 owners later this year: Music Unlimited.
Music Unlimited will give people access to a ton of songs that are stored and synchronized through the cloud. Aside from being able to access this on the console, it can also be accessed through Bravia TVs, BlueRay Disk players and Home Theater systems and VAIO computers. Any single account can be used for access, making it pretty sufficient.
“We are excited to offer our customers high quality, cloud-based entertainment experiences across many of Sony’s network-enabled devices,” said Kazuo Hirai, President of Networked Products & Services Group, Sony Corporation. “Services powered by Qriocity will revolutionise the way that users play, listen, watch, share, communicate, learn, discover and create their digital entertainment content.”
Further information about Music Unlimited will be available soon, so keep on the lookout for more news!
Views: 133Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 2 Demo Impressions
Naruto Shipudden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 2 is the sequel to the PS3 exclusive fighting title Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm which was developed by CyberConnect2 and published by Namco Bandai. This sequel is from the same creators and promises to expand upon what we saw in that outing.
The demo is single player, and summarily leaves one with high expectations for the full game. I have to point out that the music that plays at the tutorial menu is just beautiful. After a short explanation of the controls (which are largely the same as in the first game) the mission ensues.

More Details Emerge About Catherine
In Famitsu’s Xbox 360-specific spin-off magazine, Atlus revealed some new information about Team Persona’s upcoming action/horror title Catherine. I assume this will be exactly the same on the PS3 as it is for the Xbox 360, considering they’re just ports of each other, so here’s the deal. It appears that the game will last for approximately 20 hours, which may seem rather short to fans of the Persona titles (who are undoubtedly following the team’s work), but it will have multiple endings. As multiple endings are wont to do, this will extend the play time and add greatly to the game’s replayability.
There will also be several difficulty levels. While it isn’t known if choosing an easier difficulty will impact the story or game overall, besides how difficult it is to get through, if the Persona games are anything to go by, the difficulty will not affect the story in any way.
It seems during this Famitsu 360 interview, the team was asked about an HD Persona game, as well, which naturally was denied a comment. So, does denial mean they are actually working on one? Let’s hope so. I call today opposite day!
Views: 159Red Dead Redemption Liars and Cheats DLC Coming
We here at DualShockers, at one point, had our own little posse rummaging through the towns of RockStar’s Red Dead Redemption’s multiplayer world. Of course, we didn’t advertise who we were; we just went in there like a mob of of immigrants looking for work at a fruit farm. Our job, though, wasn’t to pick fruit – it was to terrorize the inhabitants of Red Dead Redemption’s online province. Shooting horses, hogtying passing human players, killing off baddies, and riding through the desert sands as the sun’s sheltering glimmer quietly disappeared into the mountains.
After doing this for a couple of weeks, however, killing people off just got… well, boring. There seemed to be a lack of substance then. But now, with the the new DLC “Liars and Chear Pack,” it seems that the DualShockers crew will once again gallop through the star-filled skies to take advantage of what’s to come on September 21st.
The “Liars and Cheats Pack” will contain a plethora of new highly-requested features to expand the Free Roam world which includes the long-awaited Multiplayer Poker and Liar’s Dice. With the addition of Poker and Dice comes the a brand new Competitive Multiplayer mode. For those of you who recall the Free Roam Pack was originally supposed to be a free download. But because certain folks limit the number of free things that can be given away, Rockstar, instead, decided to add it to the Liars and Cheats Pack.
After the jump, you’ll be exposed to a couple of features that will accompany the upcoming DLC.

Recently we were invited to check out some of the fall lineup from Namco Bandai during their recent visit here in New York City. Upon entering the swanky Upper East Side hotel suite (which by the way had a delectable spread of fruit and pastries) there was one thing that immediately called my attention from everything else that was going on. Time Crisis was one of my favorite games growing up, whether it was at the arcades, or even importing my own gun con controller from Japan way back when I couldn’t ever get enough of the storied light gun shooter. This year Time Crisis: Razing Storm will release in the Move launch window making the motion peripheral even more enticing. After taking with Namco Bandai brand manager and seeing how much value is in there, now I’m pre-ordering the move. Check out the clip below and find out why Time Crisis is another reason to buy the move.
Views: 1023PlayStation 3 Firmware 3.41 Update Available Now
Once you turn your PlayStation 3 on and connect to the PSN – or launch a game – you’ll be prompted with another one of those firmware updates. This time it’s firmware 3.41 making its way onto our consoles. The PlayStation.Blog states that a feature being added to the new firmware update will be the “You May Like” section to the PlayStation Store. This feature gives you the option to add the “You May Like,” which allows you to make recommendations to other PSN members. Aside from the PlayStation Store Recommendations, you’ll also be able to… do nothing. Why? Because that’s just about what you’ll be getting with this feeble update.
Already, the PlayStation community has expressed some annoyance with the current update, stating that the update is useless, for example.
With the PlayStation 3 almost four years in, a lot of PlayStation owners are more concerned with the lack of ample feature updates like the long-awaited cross-game chat options – a feature which has been requested by the community for years. Some of you aren’t happy with this update. We’d like to know what features you were or are expecting in future firmwares.
Views: 166Title Search Added to PS3 Netflix Streaming
Ever want to search for that specific title you’re looking for? Previous to this on the PS3, you couldn’t. Now you can! A stealth update was delivered to the PS3’s Netflix streaming application today to allow you to search for any streaming title you want in Netflix’s library. The funny thing is, to my knowledge, the Wii and Xbox 360 versions of the service still don’t have this capability.
Frankly, I’m surprised any of these applications launched without search functionality, but am glad to see it is starting to be put in. Unfortunately, I use the Xbox 360 Netflix application because I feel it’s more user-friendly, so I’m hoping we see some updates there soon.

If you thought Transformers: War for Cybertron was the only place you could get transformers, you are absolutely…wrong. Enter Super Dimensional Game Neptune, in which cute girls personify game consoles. These girls then transform into goddesses and much badassery commences. Check out the latest trailer from Compile Heart after the break, which shows off this trippy process.
What is kind of cool is that, as the video shows, you have different parts of the body that you can equip with different accessories, or processors. This determines both the final aesthetic look of the goddess and also their abilities in battle.
The 16-bit sprites you see throughout the video are actually summons, and are based off Gust, Compile Heart, Nippon Ichi and Sega characters throughout the years. You will also supposedly be able to pull in your own pictures and use them as summons throughout the game, as well, which adds yet another swanky customization aspect to the game.
Super Dimensional Game Neptune releases in Japan next month and I’m hoping and praying either Sega or NIS America will bring this game stateside.
Views: 320New Artwork of Various Final Fantasy XIV Classes
Today Square-Enix released a ton of new artwork from their upcoming MMO release, Final Fantasy XIV, which showcases the game’s various classes. There are 18 classes in all, and these shots are a combination of all those, some more than twice with different races. All these classes fall into four different groups. You have your craftsmen and gatherers to start with. Sometimes you just have to work for a living, right? On the other hand, you have your fighters and casters, the more battle-oriented of the four disciplines. I think I want to be a ninja cat myself, because you know, ninjas and cats go together. What do you think?
Or maybe I’ll just let all the fools go out to battle and be content with a life of fishing or herbalism – be a pacifist. When I play, hopefully I’ll avoid the standard mage or ranger archetypes that I always tend to go for. I need someone next to me to slap my hand if I try to go through with it.
Final Fantasy XIV hits in late September for the PC and, unfortunately, not until March of next year if you’re hoping to play on the PS3.
Views: 151Sony: Momentum Is The Reason Behind the Exclusive (Content)
During the wild week that was E3 2010, one of our biggest interviews didn’t actually take place on the show floor. Instead it was a couple of blocks away at the ultra swanky JW Marriot, and the interview was with Sony’s director of hardware marketing, Mr. John Koller. We asked John about the newly revitalized relationships with 3rd party publishers and Playstation Move’s influence with that. John made it clear that game creators we’re behind the Playstation brand because of the momentum behind the platform. We also talk a bit about the new campaign behind the PSP as well. Take a look at the clip below.

There’s something that frequently happens in the game industry more so than any other form of entertainment and that is delays. On occasion you see it happen in the music business when an artist isn’t too happy with the way a record omes out and wants to take a second go at it. But let’s imagine if when you went to go see Toy Story 3 in the theatre ane when you arrived the person at the booth told you the movie has been delayed, what would you say? Well that’s something that occurs in gaming pretty much all the time so when you see the complete opposite occur it leaves you with an almost stupid look on your face followed by a very distinct noise coming out of your mouth; that noise is usually something along the lines of: Whaaaaaaaaaaaat?

After watching “The Decision” last night, (which was some of the worst television I’ve seen in my whole life) and realizing the some french guy named LeBron wasn’t coming to the Knicks I said to myself “Oh Well, let’s go Met’s and let’s go football! To my amazement it seems as though EA Sports gods have listened to my prayers and decided to surround us all with screenshots, a brand new trailers, and most importantly, team ratings for the AFC North and South Divisions in this year’s upcoming Madden 11.
