Players of Star Wars Battlefront II were unable to play as the gleeful and creepy Emperor Palpatine for a month, but the character is being reinstated into the game's roster of heroes and villains through a patch this week. The Emperor was initially removed due to a bug in which Palpatine was able to shoot Force lightning through walls.

Emperor Palpatine isn't all that is returning to the game—the Ewok Hunt gametype is also making a comeback. The August patch fixes an issue with the mode where Stormtroopers were unable to board the shuttle. Additionally, the patch "rebalances stamina for lightsaber heroes," although what exactly that change entails is not made clear in a forum post from the developers.

While Battlefront fans may be happy to play as a returning character, they are still awaiting the addition of several new pieces of content announced during E3 2018. The new content inspired by the Star Wars prequels will come in the form of playable new heroes and villains General Grievous, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker, and Count Dooku.

Star Wars Battlefront II is available for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
